2023年2月下旬、休日を利用して直島へ旅してきました。久しぶりの旅行！その４。家浦港に着いてすぐ、「直島パヴィリオン」と「赤カボチャ」を鑑賞。その後はベネッセハウス宿泊者専用バスで地中美術館へと向かいます。
In late February 2023, I traveled to Naoshima for a holiday. First trip in a long time! Episode 4. As soon as we arrived at Miyaura Port, we visited "Naoshima Pavilion" and "Red Pumpkin". After that, we headed to the Chichu Art Museum by bus reserved for Benesse House guests.

08. いざ、地中美術館へ！ / One of Tadao Ando's masterpieces, Chichu Art Museum!
宮浦港からバスで20分ほどで到着。宮浦港から直接ここまで来ましたが、スーツケースなどの荷物はバスに載せたままでOK。宿の人が部屋まで運んでくれるシステムになっているようです、助かる〜。
It took about 20 minutes by bus from Miyaura Port. We came here directly from Miyaura Port, but you can leave your suitcases and other luggage on the bus, and the hotel staff will carry them to your room, which is very helpful.
08-1. 行く際の注意 / Notes on visiting Chichu Art Museum
・月曜は休館日
・時期によって閉館時間が異なる（3〜9月は18時閉館、10〜2月は17時閉館）
・WEBから事前予約がオススメ
（入館30分前まで予約できるが、連休など混み合う時期は売り切れになる時間帯もあるようです）
と言うわけで、予定が決まったら必ず公式サイトをチェックしましょう↓。
・The museum is closed on Mondays.
・Closing hours vary depending on the season (6:00 p.m. from March to September, 5:00 p.m. from October to February).
・Advance reservations through the website are recommended.(Reservations can be made up to 30 minutes prior to admission, but during busy periods such as consecutive holidays, the museum may be sold out.)

08-2. 受付→美術館へ移動 / Reception → Move to the museum
WEBで事前購入した際のQRコードを受付に提示して、紙のチケットとパンフレット、地図を受け取ります。観覧料は2,100円（大人１人）。
Present the QR code from your web-based advance purchase to the receptionist to receive a paper ticket, pamphlet, and map. The admission fee is 2,100 yen (per adult).
地中美術館は、入館受付の建物から徒歩で3〜5分程離れたところにあります。行きは緩い上り坂。
Chichu Art Museum is about a 3-5 minute walk from the entrance reception building. The way to the museum is a gentle uphill.
縦に長い池？沼？のほとりを歩きます。
Long vertical pond? Swamp? Walking along the edge of the pond or swamp?
安藤建築感のあるコンクリートが見えてきました。
Concrete with an Ando architectural feel is now visible.

08-3. 地中美術館へ入る / Entry to Chichu Art Museum
こちらが正門、右側にある受付で紙のチケットを係の人に渡して入館。
This is the small main gate. Enter by presenting a paper ticket to the attendant at the reception desk on the right.
入り口の脇から瀬戸内海が見えました。港からバスで来たので実感が薄いですが、ここは山の上にあるようです。
From the side of the entrance, the Seto Inland Sea could be seen in the distance.You can feel that Chichu Art Museum is located on top of a mountain.
RPGのダンジョン入り口感、、、！期待が高まります。

地中美術館は2004年の開業。すでに20年近く経過しているからか、緑の絡み具合が味わい深いですね。
Chichu Art Museum opened in 2004. Almost 20 years have already passed. The intertwining of the building and greenery is very tasteful.
過剰な照明設備はなく、自然光を主とした環境。光と影のコントラストが美しい。
There are no excessive lighting fixtures here. Natural light gently illuminates the surroundings. The contrast between light and shadow is t very beautiful.
08-4. はじまりのスクエア / Entrance→square
少し歩くと、四角いキューブにたどり着きます。
After a short walk, you will reach a square cube.

地中美術館は館内の写真がメディアに掲載されることが少ないので、新鮮です。よく見かける空撮写真の四角に当たる個所だと思われるので、勝手に「はじまりのスクエア」と呼んでいます。
The Chichu Art Museum is rarely photographed in the media, so this is a new experience for us. I call the first space "the square of the beginning" because it seems to correspond to the "square" in the aerial photograph.
切り取られた空とコンクリートの美しい対比を眺めつつ、ぐるりと周りながら進みます。
The beautiful contrast of the cut-out sky and concrete is wonderful. Walk around and go on.
案内などの情報は、ほとんどありません。反対に、展示への期待感が膨らんでいきます。序盤から安藤忠雄氏によるコンクリート建築の美しさに惚れ惚れ。つづく。
There is no guidance or any other textual information. The anticipation for the exhibition is building. Although we are not in the exhibition area yet, we are already enjoying the beauty of the concrete architecture by Tadao Ando. To be continued.
